Set in late 19th-century America, the narrative follows Johnny Joestar, a former elite horse racer who lost the use of his legs, and Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious executioner wielding a mysterious spinning steel sphere. Together, they enter a brutal, cross-country horse race spanning thousands of miles across rugged wilderness.
David Production delivers unmatched visual flair here. Dynamic camera angles capture the kinetic intensity of galloping horses, while detailed environment designs bring the American frontier to life. Beyond the high-stakes race, the overarching plot twists around a deep national conspiracy and supernatural Stand battles. If you want a fresh start in the JoJo universe without needing decades of background context, this series offers an unbeatable jumping-off point.
2. The Apothecary Diaries (Season 3)

Maomao returns to the inner palace with her sharp intellect, clinical expertise, and signature obsession with poisons. Season 3 elevates the stakes as political power struggles deepen within the imperial court. What begins as isolated medical cases slowly weaves into a grand tapestry of betrayal, family secrets, and high-stakes diplomacy.
The writing shines brightly through Maomao’s pragmatic, grounded perspective. Viewers who enjoy clever deductive reasoning over sheer brute force will find her investigations deeply satisfying. The production team maintains gorgeous color palettes and meticulous historical costume designs, making every episode a visual treat. The underlying dynamic between Maomao and Jinshi also gains meaningful emotional layers, balancing heavy political tension with moments of subtle humor.
3. Black Clover (Season 2)

After a long hiatus, Asta and the Magic Knights return with explosive intensity. Season 2 directly tackles the raid on the Spade Kingdom, where humanity faces the terrifying dark magic of the Dark Triad. Asta’s relentless drive to overcome his lack of magic using raw physical power and Anti-Magic remains the heart of the story.
Studio Pierrot adopted a seasonal release model for this run, drastically improving the animation quality compared to earlier long-running weekly formats. Fight sequences feature crisp swordplay, impact-heavy impact frames, and smooth spell effects. The narrative moves at a blistering pace, skipping filler content to deliver non-stop momentum, tactical team fights, and emotional character awakenings.
4. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2
- Genre: Cyberpunk / Sci-Fi / Action Thriller
- Studio: Studio TRIGGER

Studio TRIGGER returns to Night City with a fresh standalone tale set inside the neon-drenched, hyper-violent metropolis. Rather than rehashing previous storylines, this new installment introduces a down-on-his-luck merc and an elite netrunner navigating the dangerous underground cyberware market.
TRIGGER’s trademark animation style—vibrant color palettes, exaggerated movement, and raw kinetic energy—fits the chaotic world of Night City perfectly. The show pulls no punches regarding themes of corporate greed, human enhancement, and personal survival. Paired with a driving electronic soundtrack, this standalone sci-fi thrill ride stands out as one of the most stylish anime productions of the year.
5. Blue Box (Season 2)
- Genre: Sports / Coming-of-Age Romance

Blue Box blends athletic dedication with high school romance better than almost anything else on television. The story centers on Taiki Inomata, a dedicated badminton player, and Chinatsu Kano, a star basketball player who moves into Taiki’s family home. Season 2 pushes both leads deeper into their respective high school tournament runs while exploring their evolving personal feelings.
What sets this show apart is its genuine respect for both genres. The badminton and basketball matches feature realistic court positioning, genuine athletic tension, and convincing movement. At the same time, the romantic subplot avoids cheap drama, opting instead for subtle body language, awkward everyday moments, and believable character growth. It offers a warm, refreshing experience for anyone looking for emotional depth.
6. Tokyo Revengers: Three Deities Arc
- Genre: Action / Time-Travel / Delinquent Drama
- Studio: LIDENFILMS
- Where to Watch: Disney+ / Hulu
Takemichi Hanagaki faces his hardest time-travel challenge yet as the power vacuum in Tokyo explodes into open warfare. The Three Deities Arc shatters old gang hierarchies, introducing three massive, ruthless syndicates competing for total control over the city. Takemichi must navigate complex loyalties to prevent a tragic future from unfolding.
This arc brings high narrative tension and raw emotional stakes. The fistfights feel gritty and grounded, but the real strength lies in Takemichi’s unwavering refusal to give up, despite his physical weaknesses. The series continues to pull viewers in with dramatic cliffhangers, tragic backstories, and intense character interactions.
7. Firefly Wedding
- Genre: Historical / Psychological Dark Romance
- Studio: Bug Films

Set in the Meiji era, Firefly Wedding tells the story of Satoko Kirigaya, a noblewoman suffering from a fatal heart condition. When a deadly assassin named Shinpei Goto kidnaps her, Satoko proposes a sudden marriage deal to survive: if he keeps her alive, she will grant him wealth and status. Shinpei accepts, quickly developing an intense, dangerous obsession with her.
This series delivers a gripping blend of suspense, dark romance, and historical drama. The dynamic between a calculating heroine who uses her wits to survive and an unhinged, deadly bodyguard keeps viewers on edge every single episode. Bug Films provides crisp visual direction, contrasting soft historical aesthetic choices with sharp, visceral action scenes.
8. Ao Ashi (Season 2)
- Genre: Tactical Sports / Youth Football
- Studio: TMS Entertainment

Ao Ashi remains the gold standard for realistic sports anime. Season 2 follows Ashito Aoi as he adjusts to the demanding tactical requirements of the Tokyo City Esperion youth team. As the competition sharpens, Ashito must expand his spatial awareness on the pitch, evolving from a raw, instinctive forward into a playmaking full-back.
Unlike traditional sports shows that rely heavily on fantasy superpowers, Ao Ashi focuses entirely on genuine football tactics, positional play, and athletic psychology. The series breaks down complex field vision into clear visual diagrams that make soccer easy to understand even for casual fans. It is an inspiring, intellectually engaging journey about grit, teamwork, and hard work.
9. Magic Knight Rayearth (2026 Remake)
- Genre: Isekai / Mecha / Fantasy
- Studio: TMS Entertainment
- Where to Watch: Crunchyroll
TMS Entertainment breathes fresh life into CLAMP’s classic 90s masterpiece. Three high school girls—Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu—are suddenly summoned from Tokyo Tower to the magical realm of Cephiro. To save this collapsing world, they must unlock element-based powers, pilot giant Rune Gods, and embrace their destinies as Magic Knights.
This modern remake preserves the classic heart and dark twists of the original story while upgrading the visual presentation. Modern hand-drawn animation paired with digital lighting effects makes the magical spells and robotic battles feel truly grand. It bridges the gap between classic nostalgia and modern production values, offering a fantastic experience for old fans and new viewers alike.
10. Reincarnated as a Sword (Season 2)
- Genre: Fantasy / Action Adventure
- Studio: C2C
- Where to Watch: Crunchyroll / HIDIVE
The heartwarming yet action-packed duo of Teacher (a sentient, overpowered sword) and Fran (a young Black Cat beastgirl) return for new adventures. Season 2 sends them across new continents as Fran works to evolve her beastfolk lineage and Teacher crafts new battle strategies.
Studio C2C delivers remarkably clean action choreography, making every monster fight feel energetic and satisfying.
